I'm waiting for the delivery of our new refrigerator (the old one died this weekend), and they were supposed to be here by no later than 10:00 am. It is now 10:50am. Maybe they meant 10:00am in California?
I'm excited about my new refrigerator. I never thought I'd say something like that. God, what has happened to me? We also got a new dishwasher that will be delivered later in the week. I've been washing dishes by hand for over a year now because my current dishwasher does not get the job done. They end up coming out dirtier looking than they went in. I don't mind hand washing, in fact, I've come to sort of enjoy it, but I am looking forward to having my pretty new dishwasher installed too. Once again, what has happened to me?
I've got more to say about Dawson's Creek, but maybe I'll just email the people that said that they watched the show. I will say that I think Dawson's Creek got better as time went on. It is fascinating watching the Katie Holmes before she was brainwashed met up with that freak Tom Cruise.
Check out Danielle's blog, I received a postcard from her today and posted pictures of it. Also, I heard from her earlier this week. She said that she is now at her next stop. I'm sure you'll be hearing from her soon.
Damn, my arm hurts from the flu shot. The nurse reminded me to big girl when I was making a horrible face while she stabbed my arm. Zorba remarked, "Mama booboo!" Then she got her booboo and cried and cried. Poor girl. Later on, I peeled off her bandaid and said to her, "Ohh, mama's booboo hurts, does your boo boo hurt?" She shook her head no. She is a better big girl than mama, that is for sure.
While standing in line to vote, a collared dog came up and walked right into the voting precinct! She was in there for about five to ten minutes, then came out. I wanted to ask her how she voted, but that would have been rude and intrusive, so I kept my mouth shut. Some nice person grabbed her and called her owner. Phew.
I found four wool sweaters at the thrift store. I'm felting them as I write this. It is sooo much fun washing wool sweaters and watching them shrink and thicken up. I also found a Martha Stewart book that I almost didn't get. I'm very happy now that I got it. Zorba got a Barney book. I hate Barney, but I said she could pick out a book and that is what she picked out.
I bought some paint stripper today. I'm going to attempt to strip a dresser. Right now it is painted brown and it isn't that pretty. But I think if I can get it stripped and stained that it will be beautiful. We'll see how it goes.
I also bought a painter's dropcloth and I'm going to try to paint it so it can make a nifty backdrop for portraits. I have a cousin who has a cousin who is prophotographer and he did this and from his pictures it looked pretty damn good, so I'm going to try it. I think it will take me awhile to do this.
Zorba refused to take a nap today. This is not a big deal as I just left her down there for an hour and a half. BUT, she was incredibly grumpy for the rest of the day. The kind of grumpy where she was smacking me while in Wal-mart and screaming so loud that our fellow customers covered their ears in pain. BUT, in the end she fell asleep moments after I put her down tonight.
Zorba is big into giving lip kisses now. She wouldn't for the longest time, but she does now and I love it. I love getting kisses from her.
If you signed up for a visit from Danielle and you have yet to hear from me, please leave a comment. My email is acting up and I have emailed a couple people that never received my emails. And it is not too late to offer an invitation to Danielle.
A little note on this Danielle stuff will work. When you receive Danielle, if you've requested to be surprised by her arrival, then you should email me to let me know that you have her. Then you will receive an invite to post (as her) on her blog as well as where she is to be sent next.
I know that Danielle is with her current host and that she is having a hell of a time. And I know that she will be with someone else in the very near future. Ol' Danielle, she gets around.
I'm in the process of contacting people about Danielle. If you haven't heard from me yet, you will very soon. I'm working my way through the list. I'm making a list, checking it twice, and I'm making note of who is naughty and who is nice because Danielle is coming to your town.
Last night, instead of wandering around the house (like I usually do) trying to decide if I should clean, watch tv, or do something creative, I actually DID something creative. So many days/nights I think about doing more bibs, quilting, or whatever, but I let something else (cleaning or a television show) get in the way. Maybe I ought to move a table into the living room so I can sew and watch the tv? Yeah!
So I worked on this wee quilt for the upcoming Half the Sky auction. It is a doll quilt or I think it would be cute framed and hanging in a nursery (but that is me).
I pinned the hell out of this baby. And it paid off for me, because I usually don't pin the hell out of quilts and they slip (I'm just using the foot that came with the machine), but this one didn't slip at all. Thank you, pins!
I can't put a quilt (even a small one) down without a dog or Zorba getting on it. Those are Kallie's paws that you see.
All that is left is for me to bind it. And if you can't tell in the photographs, the color of the quilt is a sagey/celery green. The back is the polkadot material. Keep your fingers crossed for me that I can do the binding without screwing the quilt up.
Kallie girl. Look at that face!
You'd never know by her pictures that she is a spaz, but I'm telling you, she is. Total spaz.
In Danielle news, she is currently packing her bag because she will start round one of her journey tomorrow. All of you who want Danielle to visit, I will be contacting you in the next two days to find out where you want her sent. And Dani's blog is almost ready!
