This is Jake. The sweetest dog I've ever known. I love him and he loves me. If he were a person, he would be the type to always let you know how much you mean to him. Everybody loves Jake. If you were to stay at my house, he would keep you company on the couch, as well as offer to sleep with you at night. He is a good host that way.
Out of my two dogs, he is the one that will be least happy about a baby coming into our lives. When I babysit my neighbor's six month old, Jake expresses his displeasure about the kid sitting in my lap. He has growled and cried at the sight of the baby hogging my attention. His reaction was a surprise, because I thought Lola would be the one who would behave this way, not Jake. But it turns out that Lola loves kids. She loves licking their toes and their sticky little hands. Jake gives the kid a quick, unsure sniff, then tries to force his way on my lap. Jealous. Jealous. Jealous.
I know Jake will adjust to a baby, so I'm not too worried about it. Once he realizes that little kids drop food on the floor, he'll be fine.
That's such a beautiful photo of him. Do you have that framed? 'Cause that's a frame-worthy photo if ever I saw one!

These pictures are amazing! Your pups are beyond cute. And I'd bet Jake turns into a defender of the universe when he realizes that your kid belongs to the family - probably the baby's staunchest ally.

The SW during our homestudy told us that Audrey is going to have "adjustment issues". (Audrey is our dog.) During the interviews at our house, Audrey layed on the couch, her belly up and her legs spread a part, with her head in my lap. The SW was cool and she suggested that I carried treats around with me. Sometimes (not all the time) when a child approached, give the treat to the child to give to Audrey. This way, the dog will associate a child with a postive experience.
Jake is adorable, as is your pug.
