On a happier note, today I was at Petsmart looking for a sweater for my dog, Jake. He is very cold and he really needs a sweater, but all of the sweaters at PetSmart had hoods. He won't wear a hood. Anyway, while I was looking, this big, thick pug walked by me. I commented to his people about how cute he was and how I have a black pug. Then later on, in another section of the store, I bumped into them again. Somehow we got to talking about where we got our dogs, and her story sounded like mine. So I asked her what her dog's parent's names are.
She said, "His father's name is Festus."
I said, "And his mother's name is Maybelline."
"YES! And his birthday is October 3."
"Lola's birthday is October 3 too. They are brother and sister!"
The lady was very sweet and we were both very excited about all of this. She started to cry, and I got down to look into Lola's brother's face! So cute! We exchanged phone numbers and we're going to get together after Christmas. I'm going to "try" to take a portrait of Lola and her brother. Lola is not keen on other dog's, so I don't know that she will cooperate by sitting next to her sibling, but we'll see.
Pitiful, huh? Getting all excited about finding my dog's brother. I mean, it ain't like this is an episode of Unsolved Mysteries or anything, but it was just so much fun.
Oh, that's an awesome coinky-dink!

Aww, what a great, sweet story! I wonder if my pups have local siblings? :-)

What are the chances? I think that is a fabulous coincidence. Littermates, reunite!

That's so cool! I would love to meet my dog's littermate. We got her at the "pound" and have no idea what the first year of her life was like. I'm sorry to hear (read) about Louise. May peace be with you and your sweet kitty.
