At our grocery store, they give the kids "bucks" for them to use in this little treat machine. Zorba loves the bucks process and it is the highlight of her grocery store experience. So, yesterday, she got her buck, and we got in line behind a little 2 year old who was having a hard time getting the machine to accept her buck. A minute later, a 5 year old boy got in line after Zorba. I was trying to help the 2 year old get her buck to go in, when the dad showed up. Finally, the machine took the 2 year old's buck and she worked on getting her treat out of the machine. While we waited for the 2 year old, Zorba geared up for her turn and the dad asked the 5 year old (the brother of the 2 year old) if he was in front of us. The little boy said, "I don't think so." And the dad said, "That is okay, you go in front of her."
"Excuse me, she is next."
"Oh, is she first?"
"Yeah, she is after your daughter and BEFORE your son."
"Okay, then she can go next."
"Gee, thanks."
Jeesh. Jerk.
