I'm getting ready to take Zorba to the dentist to have some cavities filled.  Ugh.  The horror.  I know, I know, cavities!  Four of them!  I swear, I'm not neglectful of my child's teeth.  If you knew me, you would know that I've been a freak and a half about her teeth since the day we met her.  A freak and a half!  But here we are, getting ready to go the dentist so they can knock her out with demerol.  Sigh. 

Okay, so I'm selling Zorba's plastic playhouse that we have always kept indoors and that she rarely uses.  I put it up on craigslist and I have several moms who want it and are ready to come pick it up and get it the hell out of my house.  Thank goodness!  Here is my question for y'all....do I have them pick it up when she is out of the house or do you think I would be evil if she saw them take it away?  I know she is going to be upset over it.  I know it.  She has been with me on several Goodwill runs and has been upset every time we leave her old toys there.  Part of me says, "She'll get over it."  And the other part of me thinks I should do it so she doesn't see it happen. 

What would you do?

Doll quilt done!!  Well, I have to wash it, dry it, wrap it up pretty, and then mail it, but I finished sewing it!  And I even finished the binding by hand.  I've never done that before.  Am tired.  Am very tired. Why do I wait until the last minute to do these things?

I often complain that Zorba does not "pose" for me.   Well, today, I said, "Zorba, look at Mama's camera!"  Oh, she posed for me, but this is what she did.  Over and over and over. She thought it was pretty funny to make this face for me.  Over and over and over.  My girl is just like me...a smart ass.   Funny, funny girl.

Zorba had a huge break through at swimming tonight.  Her teacher got her to go under water all by herself and Zorba is thrilled!  She is so freakin' excited that she can do this with confidence now that we went swimming after the lesson so she could practice on her own.  Tonight was the first night out of  4 or 5 lessons where she did not cry!  I was so happy for her that I had a hard time not crying when I would see her plunge herself  water and come back up beaming. 

She talked me into it.

Clean and Courage

I need to clean my house in the worst way, so I'm starting with the master bath and working my way out.  I need to thoroughly clean 3 rooms for me to reach today's goal.   Then three more tomorrow.  That is reasonable, right? 

I'm busy working on some stuff.  Photography stuff.  And I need to get busy working on quilting stuff.  For example, finishing the doll quilt and starting another. 

And then comes another photography workshop in less than two weeks!  I'm always doing the workshops, aren't I?  Ray would say yes and that I need to quit.  And I am.  This is going to be my last one for a while.  You see, I keep thinking that every workshop will  give me the courage to finally open for business.  And I've finally started to realize that no workshop can do that for me.  Or ummm, maybe this next one can!  Hah!  It might! You never know.  Heh. Anyway, we'll see.  Regardless, I'm really looking forward to this next one.
